Important:
  • When upgrading to this version please note that in order to downgrade to older versions of VM Backup, all backups would need to be started from scratch.
  • After upgrading to this version, Virtual Machines using the “Truncate Logs” functionality need to have their VM Backup VM Tools manually updated using the “Install/Update VM Backup VM Tools” functionality in the “VSS Settings” page.

  • The performance of retention operations on cloud storage locations has been improved

  • A typo in the “TransferSize” field of the Get Operation History REST API response has been fixed.
  • An issue where details were not shown in the operation history for some successful offsite jobs has been fixed.
  • An issue which was causing retention cleanup jobs to not run on the Offsite Backup Server for some profiles migrated from V8 has been fixed.
  • A rare issue due to which incremental backups were taking a long time to complete has been fixed.

VM Backup Version 9.0.96.0

Improvements

  • The live chat bubble has been relocated to the left side of the screen. In order for this change to take effect, you might need to uninstall the previous VM Backup version manually and reinstall the version 9.0.96.0. This will not have any impact on your configuration.
  • A rare error which was causing immutable backups to fail due to timing sensitivity has been fixed.
  • An error which was causing Boot From Backup operations on the Offsite Backup Server to fail has been fixed.
  • A rare error where specific mailboxes were not loading during Granular Exchange Item Level Restore operations has been fixed.
  • Backups to the Offsite Backup Server that do not contain any changes are no longer incorrectly marked as failed.
  • Stability fixes and improvements have been made.
