365 Total Backup – Microsoft Planner (coming soon)

Enhancements

  • 365 Total Backup now supports an additional Microsoft 365 product, Microsoft Planner.
  • The implementation will include backups of Microsoft Planner group plans in 365 Total Backup.
  • A full restore feature will be available to restore all backed-up plans belonging to a Microsoft 365 group directly to Microsoft Planner.
  • Granular restore of an entire plan, buckets and/or tasks from within backed-up plans in Microsoft Planner will be available through an intuitive user interface.
  • Any plans, buckets and/or tasks can be restored to the same Microsoft 365 group, or a different group within the Microsoft 365 organization.

365 Total Backup – Four-Eye Approval

A four-eye approval process has been introduced to 365 Total Backup:
  • Four-eye approval represents an additional layer of security that mitigates risks of losing data due to actions of rogue and novice administrators.
  • It is disabled by default and can be enabled during or after onboarding a tenant.
  • Four-eye approval requires at least two administrators to be assigned as approvers.
  • The feature allows only assigned administrators to approve or rejects requests for sensitive operations such as:
    • Disabling users, groups and sites from backup
    • Deleting backup data for users, groups and sites
    • Organization deletion
    • Changes to retention policy settings
    • Changes to Four-Eye approval settings

Enhancements

  • An option for generating an API link when exporting the operational report has been introduced. This is in addition to the existing CSV format and can be used for integration with other systems.
  • Created a “Manage Shared API links” function for the operational report which can be used to easily manage the related API links.
  • The operational report now includes more data, such as information about the backup state, time stamp of the last backup and last error messages when applicable, and also includes information for users and groups which are not configured (or partially configured) to take backups.

  • It is now possible to store backup data in a French data center.

Improvements

  • The subfolder “Recoverable Items” has been added when restoring a mailbox. It includes the subfolders “Deletions”, “Purges” and “DiscoveryHolds”. “Recoverable Items” are supported in Granular Restore, as well as automatically restored via full restore.
  • The filter “Backup issues requiring your action to resolve” in the “Users” and “Groups & SharePoint” pages will no longer show users or groups who don’t have a valid license.
  • An issue in which the email address was not being backed up as part of the contact in mailbox backups has been fixed.
  • An issue was addressed during the Mailbox Discovery process where the folder “Recoverable Items” did not exist within a Mailbox has been fixed.
  • The speed of restore operations for Mailbox, OneDrive and SharePoint has been improved.
