Well prepared for 2020: Hornetsecurity reports yearly revenue growth of 68 % for 2019
New guarantor of success: The 365 Total Protection service to protect Microsoft O365 accounts
While the German economy as a whole was only able to announce a growth rate of 0.6 % for 2019 and is now being hit hard by the coronavirus COVID19 pandemic, Hornetsecurity can report positive news: The European market leader for email cloud security services achieved a growth in annual recurring revenues by 68 % within the past year. Hornetsecurity has once again exceeded expectations as one of the fastest-growing German technology companies, and is thus well equipped to deal with the current coronavirus crisis situation.
One of the reasons for this success is the increasing demand for reliable protection mechanisms for the Microsoft Office 365 Cloud, to which more and more companies are relocating their email communication. Demand for the service will continue to grow, especially in times when a large number of employees are forced to work from home. However, this makes the Microsoft Office 365 Cloud a popular target for cyber-criminals, which is why companies need additional protection for their data. The Security and Compliance Suite, 365 Total Protection, meets these security requirements and is becoming increasingly popular. The service is already responsible for just under 10% of Hornetsecurity GmbH’s contract volume – and the trend is increasing rapidly.
“The rapidly growing demand for additional security solutions for Microsoft Office 365 is not unfounded. In 2019 alone, the number of attacks on users’ email accounts quadrupled. Our goal is to provide comprehensive protection for companies with our sophisticated services and to become the leading provider of Microsoft Office 365 email security,” explains Daniel Hofmann, CEO of Hornetsecurity. “We expect that in the next three years, up to 70 % of locally installed solutions for email security, email archiving and encryption will be replaced by cloud solutions. We are therefore in the middle of a decisive phase of upheaval, which offers great potential for us.”

“A further focus will be on expanding cooperation with Tier2 providers to penetrate the IT market on a large scale. For example, we were recently able to win a leading German distributor, api, as a sales partner. Of course we also have a whole range of new products and features in the pipeline. But the most important thing at the moment is that we are taking significant measures to counteract current developments. For example, we are addressing new target groups with extensive campaigns and offers, which will enable us to establish long-term business relationships and emerge from this global crisis stronger than before,” adds Daniel Blank, COO of Hornetsecurity.
